DISTILLERY NOTES
We made this by fermenting Wildflower Mead completely dry and then adding fresh grapefruit rinds that we got from GoodLife Juice as a by-product of their own grapefruit juicing! We then added dried rosemary and a touch of wormwood and quinine to amp up the bitterness. Best enjoyed chilled, preferably outside in the sun eating barbecue.
BC SPIRITS NOTES
You know the team over at Esquimalt Wine Co. is always up to new things and this one is very fun. An amaro spritz, combining super dry mead with grapefruit, rosemary and bittering herbs to create a refreshing, slightly bitter and very aromatic sparkling cocktail in a bottle. This is everyones summer sipper.
Alcohol - 6.9% / 13.8 proof
Color - Grapefruit pink
Nose - The sparkling mead is noteworthy, fragrant dry honey with hints of rosemary and then strong grapefruit peel
Taste - Much drier than I expected, grapefruit peel and rosemary are aromatic with the bitter notes in the back of the palate. The mead back bone and gorgeous sparkle round it all off
Finish - Dry and fragrant, grapefruit and rosemary for days
Best Enjoyed - Super chilled in the park
