BC Spirits "Spirits a Day" #251 - Bruinwood Distillery White Apple Rye Spirit

DISTILLERY NOTES

An odd mashbill of rye, wheat and apples, distilled and then laid down in a old rye barrel for 1 week before bottling.

BC SPIRITS NOTES

Super unique expression from Bruinwood Distillery. A wheat, rye, apple spirit that is further infused post distillation. It’s a trickster on the nose, giving you high spice from the rye and wheat then this aromatic apple lingering; this continues on the palate. Balancing between aromatic white dog and fragrant apple notes. This would be a fun cocktail ingredient for sure

Alcohol - 40% / 80 proof

Color - Light apple flesh

Nose - A mix of spicy rye, sweet wheat and fragrant apple notes. Raw but finessed

Taste - White dog style rye and wheat is very evident but light and fragrant, not bullish and the apple just seems to wrangle them into place. Leaving aromatic apple with those beautiful grain notes

Finish - Apple eau de vie plays well with the rye and wheat, long and lingering

Best Enjoyed - Play around with cocktails with this one
