DISTILLERY NOTES

This is a single cask release, made from 100% BC malted barley aged in an ex-bourbon first fill Jim Beam barrel for 2 years. Then finished in a char 3 almost new Hungarian Oak barrel for 1 year, providing notes of honey, cinnamon, toasted oak, and cocoa.

BC SPIRITS NOTES

The second whisky released by Stillhead Distillery before Xmas, this one is a classic based single malt aged for 2 years in ex Jim Beam barrels and then finished for a year in almost new, char 3 Hungarian Oak which is where this changes everything. I am trying to recollect when and if I ever tasted a Hungarian Oak whisky; this oak bring huge cinnamon spice balanced with honey, toffee and butterscotch, it just reminds me of bailing hay in Autumn.

Alcohol - 45% / 90 proof

Color - Dark copper

Nose - Oaky toffee, subtle smoky wood, brown sugar and hints of vanilla

Taste - Texture for days, dusty hay from the single malt notes play so well with the dry oaky vanilla, toffee and butterscotch that come from that Hungarian Oak. This needs to be played with more.

Finish - Spicy oak and vanillas with a huge butterscotch note

Best Enjoyed - Neat
